Boys?! Yes, boys have sixteenth birthdays, too. Most red-blooded American young men will tell you that Sweet Sixteen parties ideas are strictly for girls, and they would much rather have a easily great present. Translation? That would be a car. Or at the very least, a boy-toy.
Sixteen-year-old boys/men are transitioning as well. Seemingly overnight they go from dinky boys to young men with responsibilities. He usually has a job or is seeing for one, a new driver's license and insurance, and is manufacture plans for his future education. He probably has a girlfriend, or has been eyeing one girl in single and is planning to ask her out as soon as the butterflies stop messing with his stomach.

Following are a few ideas to get you started on celebrating your son, grandson, or nephew's sixteenth birthday:
Invite friends over for a barbeque or grilled dinner. Hot dogs and hamburgers are always good with guys. Grab a few bags of chips, some iced sodas, a birthday cake, and you are good to go. Keep it informal by calling with invitations or sending emails.
Dinner out with 2-3 of his best buddies at a beloved restaurant. The menu is wide open here Chinese, Mexican, Italian, 50's Diner, etc. Just be sure to bring the easily cool present!
A swim party at your house or the home of another house member. Again, keep the menu straightforward sandwiches, chips, bowls of candy and lots of sodas. Have extra towels on hand (somebody always forgets theirs) and extra sunblock if it is a day time party.
A camping party unless your house is lucky adequate to have a house hideaway with a log cabin. Let dad take the guys out for some old fashioned male-bonding, fishing, hunting, or just plain ol' roughing it. Mom can relax at home and wait to listen attentively to all the wild stories the men folk will tell when they get back.
